I am currently in possession of 72 Lord of the Flies essays, as well as 72 vocab/grammar tests. I have read more sentences about man’s innate sense of evil and the breakdown of civilization than I care to count. Thanks to the sentence construction portion of the grammar test, I have also learned volumes about a certain Rick Ross (in the forms of appositives, gerunds, and prepositional phrases, of course).
I have 25 school days left (but who’s counting) and sustained an over-use injury in my right shoulder last Sunday (I told the kids it was from grading papers and writing on the board, but I think the yoga/swimming/weights probably have more to do with it).
I will write a real post as soon as I can see the light of day again. In the mean time, check out my latest piece, “Yea, but what’s writing for?” in the May/June issue of TEACHER Magazine (the link can be found under the “Nationally Published Pieces” column to the right).
