I’ve been incredibly negligent about updating this so-called blog, but life these days is full of new possibility and exciting forward movement, and so here I am. It’s April, after all, and that means Easter/Passover/rebirth, parsley, and bunnies. Indeed, even if the weather suggests it’s the middle of summer this week, I’m following my second-favorite calendar and enjoying the beginning of a new season.
(My favorite calendar, of course, is the academic one I’ve managed to maintain for not one, not ten, but nearly 21 of my 26 years of life. Impressive, I know, but that’s how I role when it comes to schedules and things I really, really like).
It’s late and I get up early by the grad student clock (which is late by the rest of the world’s standard time), but I’ll end with my latest Top 5. In honor of this temporally-themed post, my Top 5 Discoveries of the Month:
5. The Mariners are off to an amazing start this year, and the Kid is back where he belongs.
4. BrewCo hosts Trivia Night on Tuesdays at 8pm. I have yet to make a substantial contribution to my team’s answers, but one day there will be a question about Dirty Dancing and then I will rack up the points.Pinkberry now has a frequent buyer card. Score.
3. Pinkberry may not have a student discount anymore, but they now feature frequent buyer cards. Score.
2. Adopted grandmothers will take you out to sushi dinners as often as possible. Score again.
1. The fact that I love Adorno’s ridiculous, nebulous, nearly-impossible-to-grasp concept of “truth content” in aesthetic experience affirms yet again that I am doing the right thing with the rest of my life. I love grad school.
Life is not a competition, but it’s always worth it to play the game…
